Prayer Sheet for Pioneer Evangelism Trip

Craig and I are traveling with 4 other friends to teach Pioneer Evangelism in Southeast Asia. We cannot wait to share principles on evangelism, dsicipleship, and church planting. We would love for you to support us with your prayers.

Here are some of our prayer needs.

Prayers for Pioneer Evangelism Trip

Southeast Asia April 28-May 9th

Craig and Jean Stockdale and the team

1. Pray for the team, Craig and Jean Stockdale, Tony and Pam Yarbrough, David Lowrance, and Hobart Welch. Third John 1:5-7 Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers . . . Send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. For they went out for the sake of the Name.

Eph. 1:18-20 says, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.

2. Pray for good health for all involved. The jet lag is going to be rough to overcome.Third John 1:2 says, Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers

3. Pray for unity of spirit and harmony among the team members and those in leadership roles on the ground. The enemy loves to sow seeds of discord in the midst of a move of God. Phil. 4:1 says, Live in harmony. Eph. 4:1-3 says, Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4. Pray for safe travels. We have a 30-hour trip to get there and then

several “in country trips” going between trainings. Ps. 123:1-8 I will life up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and coming in from this time forth and forever.

5. Pray for the Pioneer Evangelism training. We are teaching pastors and church leaders a transferable system for, evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. Plus we are providing the materials in their language. Each team does 2 trainings. Each training is either 3 or 4 days; 8 hours a day. Each team alternates hour-long sessions of training. These are long days to teach and long days to sit and listen!! Ps. 147:5 says, Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite. Pray our words will supernaturally cross cultures and language barriers. Ps. 119:130 says, The unfolding of Your words gives light. Prov. 2:2 says, Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding. Pray we will speak clearly and that they will understand us through our interpreters. Pray for physical strength and stamina for our interpreters. Prov. 2:6 says, For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Pray we will rely on the Holy Spirit to be both the speak and the hearer.

6. Pray for safety from detection while teaching to protect the anonymity of our pastors and church leaders. This is very crucial. The participants would be in danger of suffering greatly if discovered. Ps. 91:1-7 says, He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you. Thank you, Jesus!

7. Please pray we are not discovered and/or deported. Craig and I already know we WANT TO GO BACK!! Ps. 34:7 says, The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. Isa. 54:17 says, No weapon formed against you will prosper. Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Thanks in advance for your fervent on our behalf. Thanks, Michelle Dunkin, for praying this passage for our trip and for sharing it with me: Ps. 74:18-21 says, Remember this, O Lord, that the enemy (Satan) has reviled (Southeast Asia), and a foolish people (were blinded by the enemy and rejected the Truth of Jesus) has spurned Your name. Do not deliver the soul of Your turtledove to the wild beast (ungodly and militant dictators); do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever. Consider the covenant; for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence (those who do not know or fear your Name). Let not the oppressed (the precious people of these lands) return dishonored;l et the afflicted and needy praise Your name (bring the to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ-parenthesis added mine).

Craig and I praise the Lord for His directive in our lives, for Bellevue Baptist Church, our pastor and Donna, Steve Marcum and the missions team who love not only Memphis, but the uttermost parts of the world.

Jesus said, “ All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:18-20).
